Fall With Me by J.Lynn | Review

Eleven months ago, bartender and weird-shirt-wearing extraordinaire Roxy and Officer Reece Anders had a one night stand. Well, kind of. She’s been in love with him since she was fifteen, and he wishes that night they shared never happened. She’s sworn him off forever, but the past and future collide, forcing her to rely on the one man who broke her heart not once, but twice.

Her best friend since birth has been in a long-term care facility since he became a victim of a hate crime years ago, and the person who put him in there is out of prison and wanting to make amends with him and Roxy. She’s not sure she has room for forgiveness in her and when she begins to receive frightening messages and is on the receiving end of escalating violence, she thinks she knows who is to blame. The man who already destroyed one life already.

But Reece isn’t convinced. The threats are too personal, and even if Roxy doesn’t believe him, he’s not willing to let anyone hurt her. Including himself. He’s already messed up more than once when it comes to Roxy and he’s not going to let history repeat itself.

The saying "Don't judge a book by it's  cover" is very relevant when it comes to J Lynn/Jennifer L Armentrout books. The cover tells us nothing about the characters or the story and I hope that doesn't turn people away from this series. This is the fourth book in the Wait For You series by J Lynn. Although , Be With Me is my favourite in the series , I really enjoyed this book! This series is a perfect example of what I love in New Adult books , serious topics but plot lines that aren't solely focused on the romance.

We meet our main character Roxy in Stay With Me as Calla's friend and we also meet Reece , the main love interest. Reece seemed like a good guy so I was excited about him but what made me want to read this book the most was how badly Roxy wanted to avoid Reece. You don't need to read the other books to read this one but the characters from the others have cameos in the book.

Roxy is an interesting character because she's been through terrible things , her best friend is in a long-term care facility and every scene involving him made me cry. She doesn't realise that she's putting restrictions on her life that don't need to be there and it takes a lot to help her see that. She's stubborn and headstrong but that isn't always a good thing, Roxy and Reece both show each other that they can't dwell on their past and they are one of those couples that fit so well together.

I love anything that involves crime and law so the fact that this book has a lot of that in it made me very happy. The plot was fast paced for the most part but I found the ending kind of slow. That's not to say that I didn't like the ending but something happens that slows everything down and turns Roxy's world upside down. With both intense , hilarious , heart breaking and swoon-worthy scenes , I thought that this book was a great addition and I can't wait for the next book!
